Bluebell in Nuneaton, one of the West Midlands' most significant regeneration projects, has scooped its third award win in November after being commended in the What House? Awards.

These annual honours are regarded as the Oscars of the housebuilding industry and aim to recognise exciting, dynamic and pioneering projects within the new build sector.

This year the What House? Awards celebrated its 30th anniversary and Barratt Mercia's Bluebell project in Camp Hill, Nuneaton picked up the silver accolade in the 'Best Brownfield development' category.

The prize comes hot on the heels of a win at the annual Housebuilder Awards, which saw the whole Camp Hill scheme awarded the prize for 'Best Regeneration Project' 2011.

Bluebell also picked up one of the fifteen prestigious trophies at the annual Brick Awards which commend excellence in design and construction using brick. The scheme triumphed in the highly contended 'Volume Housebuilding' category.

Barratt Project Director, Andrew Dauncey, commented, "We are absolutely thrilled to have picked up no less than three awards in some of the industry's most prestigious competitions and it confirms that the work we are carrying out at Bluebell is receiving stamps of approval from some of the most important people in our sector.

"These awards recognise that Camp Hill is changing at a remarkable pace, the success of the project reflects our commitment to partnership working and our close working relationship with the local community.

"We've been delighted with the progress Bluebell has made and are pleased to announce that 60 per cent of the first phase has now been occupied" continues Andrew. "Bluebell has a terrific range of properties from one-bedroom houses starting from £78,000 to four-bedroom homes priced at £185,000. We also have a range of schemes available to assist our purchasers."

Chris Egan, Programme Manager for PinCH added, "These awards give confidence to Bluebell's new and existing residents confirming that their community is one of the best in Britain."

These recent awards follow a string of other successes in industry competitions over the past two years.

In 2010, Camp Hill was named Regeneration Scheme of the Decade in the RegenWM Awards and took silver in the What House? Awards 2010 for Best Regeneration Scheme.

Construction work at Bluebell to provide some 800 new homes has been ongoing since winter 2009. The scheme is a partnership between Barratt, Pride in Camp Hill (PinCH), Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Warwickshire County Council and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

A planning application for the second phase of Bluebell, to include 141 homes, is due to be submitted later this month, whilst the environmentally friendly Discovery House was opened to the public recently.
