Nuneaton school children from Camp Hill Primary School and St Anne's Catholic Primary School have been the first to take a tour of the Discovery House at Barratt Mercia's Bluebell development.
The children took a tour of the innovative learning facility with Barratt's professional presenter and a team of helpers, as well as teachers from their schools.
The tour included a video about how homes are built at the development, a quiz, drawing competition and a guided walk through of each of Discovery House's informative and colourful rooms - as well as a good look around the Discovery House garden.
Kirsty Whybrow, class teacher for Camp Hill Primary School, commented, "The children loved their visit to Discovery House. It was an excellent opportunity for them to learn about the new homes that are being built in our community and it was great to see them getting involved in all of the activities."
And Emily Stewart, class teacher at St Anne's Catholic Primary School, commented "We had a great time at the Discovery House - it's really bright and informative and the children especially enjoyed looking around all of the displays.
"There was so much for them to see and it was great to be invited to be one of the first classes to visit. Bluebell is really changing the face of the local area and it was nice to see the children having the chance to get so much information about what is happening in Nuneaton."
And Marianne Horton, Project Manager for Discovery House, commented "It was great to have our first groups visiting Discovery House. It was designed with children in mind and to have so many Nuneaton youngsters here was brilliant.
"Discovery House is all about showing people the advantages of modern homes - from environmental features, right down to the foundations. And having so many children here engaging with the displays and activities in Discovery House was perfect - it really was exactly what we had in mind when we launched the project."
Discovery House features a variety of rooms, including a Bluebell room, which gives visitors an insight into the history of the development and a sustainability room, which offers lots of fresh ideas about how new homes benefit the environment.
The property also features the construction room, which offers visitors the chance to find out about the entire housebuilding process, as well as the opportunity to see some of the materials that are used in the homes at Bluebell.
And the outdoor garden boasts a flourishing organic vegetable patch, a bird bath to encourage wildlife and a selection of bee and butterfly friendly plants to support the development's bee and butterfly population.
Prices at Bluebell range from £78,000 for a one-bedroom coach house to £185,000 for a four-bedroom family home. For more information, please contact the sales office on 02476 399 520 open daily from 10am to 5pm.
