HOUSEBUILDER Barratt Mercia is calling Nuneaton's first time buyers to its Bluebell development, for a dedicated event this weekend, where visitors will be able to get all of the facts about the government-backed FirstBuy shared equity scheme.
Barratt's sales advisers and mortgage experts will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about FirstBuy, which has been launched to provide financial support for buyers looking for their first home.
The event, which will be hosted this Saturday 27th August and Sunday 28th August between 10am and 5pm, represents an outstanding opportunity for first time buyers to find out about how FirstBuy funding could give them the boost they need to move into their own home.
"FirstBuy is a new government-backed scheme that has been launched to help first time buyers" comments Steve Barton, Sales Manager for Barratt Mercia. "It aims to provide financial assistance to buyers in a range of circumstances, whether you're having difficulty finding a deposit or are simply looking for lower monthly mortgage repayments.
"And we're hosting our FirstBuy event to make sure that people have all the information available about this excellent service. With all of the support on offer for first time buyers with Barratt, it could be the perfect time to visit us so we can show you how you could capitalise on this fantastic opportunity."
Under FirstBuy, buyers will be offered a loan of up to 20 per cent of the price of the property, jointly funded by Barratt Mercia and the government's Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
The buyers then have to find the remaining 80 per cent of the price themselves. Up to 76 per cent of this could be a mortgage, leaving a deposit of just four per cent.
"A lot of people will be eligible to take advantage of FirstBuy" continued Steve. "Any household with a combined income of up to £60,000 is eligible - so I would urge anyone interested to contact us as soon as possible. We have limited availability in this area but we know that demand will be high because thousands of people have already pre-registered their interest on our website.
"Our event this weekend will give buyers the chance to discuss their options with our experienced and knowledgeable staff - and we're confident that first time buyers in Nuneaton will be pleasantly surprised by how affordable it could be to move into a home of their own at Bluebell thanks to FirstBuy.
Prices at Bluebell range from £78,000 for a double bedroom coach house to £150,000 for a three-bedroom family home. For more information, please contact the sales office on 02476 399 520 open daily from 10am to 5pm.
