Youngsters going on holiday as part of a trip organised by the Camp Hill Young People's Holiday Scheme (CHYPS) were given a helping hand by local housebuilder Barratt Mercia, which provided bags for all the children to use on their holiday.
It is the second year in a row that Barratt Mercia has been confirmed as meriting the maximum five star official rating from the Home Builders Federation (HBF). The news was announced after more than 20,000 new home buyers across the country took part in this year's HBF customer satisfaction survey.
CHYPS received a donation of bags for the youngsters to use when it came to packing for their holiday.
CHYPS, which is part of Pride in Camp Hill (PinCH), is a local organisation that aims to raise funds and provide quality activity holidays for seven to 17 year olds who face disadvantage and wouldn't otherwise get a holiday.
And after approaching housebuilder Barratt Mercia, whose Bluebell development is providing new homes as part of the regeneration of Camp Hill, CHYPS received a donation of bags for the youngsters to use when it came to packing for their holiday.
Jayne Watson, Community Development Worker for Pride in Camp Hill , comments "The Camp Hill Young People's Holiday Scheme is a really positive project for the Camp Hill area, giving young people the opportunity to benefit from a fully supervised activity break which we hope will encourage their aspirations for the future and, above all, have fun.
"The Scheme relies heavily on local fundraising, volunteer time and charitable donations to be a success. We would like to thank Barratt Mercia for the donation of the kit bags, which have been really useful for the young people."
Andrew Dauncey, Project Director for Barratt Mercia, comments, "We were delighted that CHYPS approached us for help with their scheme - it's a fantastic project that is doing excellent work with local youngsters and we were happy to help.
"Our involvement in Nuneaton is about bringing much more to the community than just bricks and mortar - and whilst we're committed to providing the highest quality of homes for people in Nuneaton, we also believe that it's especially important to contribute to such worthy projects."
