WHEN staff at Barratt's Mercia's Bluebell development in Nuneaton found that there would be an entrant for this year's Nuneaton Carnival Queen who shared a name with their site they wasted no time in throwing their support behind Jessica Bluebell's campaign - and the company is now delighted to announce that they will be sponsoring Jessica's entry.
The announcement comes ahead of the selection of the 2011 Carnival Queen by an independent panel of judges at Bedworth Liberal Club, which will take place this Saturday 30th April
Steve Barton, Sales Manager for Barratt Mercia, commented "We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of Jessica Bluebell. We're always looking for new ways to work with the local community and when we found that there would be an entrant with the same name as our development to this much-loved local competition we knew it was a perfect opportunity."
"We're thoroughly looking forward to seeing how Jessica fares at this weekend's competition and we would like to wish her the very best of luck in continuing Bluebell's award winning traditions."
Barratt is currently building a selection of homes at its Bluebell development on Queen Elizabeth Road, which recently won a What House? silver award in the Best Partnership category and has since been nominated for a RICS award in the Regeneration category.
And Jessica, who is 18 and from Nuneaton, commented "I was really excited to find out that I was being sponsored by Barratt's Bluebell development - I can remember being surprised when I first heard that there was going to be a site called Bluebell because it isn't a very common name and I'm definitely looking forward to visiting the site."
Jessica is currently training as a hairdresser in Henley in Arden and she will qualify in June when she hopes to either continue as a hairdresser or work in promotions.
"It's the first time that I have competed in something like this" continued Jessica. "And I have got lots to get ready for the day - but I'm really looking forward to the competition. My grandmother once won Miss Radford so I'm hoping it runs in the family."
The homes for sale at the development currently include one- and two-bedroom coach houses priced from £77,950 and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses priced from £117,500. For more information, please contact the sales office on 02476 399 520 open daily from 10am to 5pm.

Barratt Mercia was given a five star rating in this year's HBF Customer Satisfaction Survey, in which consumers are asked if they are satisfied with the quality of their new home and whether they would recommend their builder to a friend.
